Description

A frequency distribution that depends upon 2 sets of degrees of freedom - the degrees of freedom in the numerator and the degrees of freedom in the denominator.

The F distribution is used to test whether two population variances are the same. Its characteristics are:

It is continuous.

Its values cannot be negative.

It is positively skewed.

There's a family of F distributions. each time the degrees of freedom in either the numerator or the denominator changes, a new distribution is created.
